Donald Trump’s Truth Social is going down the tubes

It’s been fairly obvious from the start that Donald Trump’s “Truth Social” project was little more than an excuse for him and his allies to move money around. In other words, it’s just like every other Trump business venture over the past fifty years.

Truth Social has reportedly been in financial trouble for as long as it’s existed. But new filings show that Truth Social has lost an astounding $73 million dollars in the most recent period. That’s an astounding number, given that the company only had $3.7 million in sales. Truth Social is basically losing $20 for every $1 dollar that it brings in. That’s almost hard to do.

It’s still not clear at what point Truth Social will finally go under. In theory, a company can keep losing money each quarter as long as investors are willing to keep putting money into it in order to keep it afloat. But at some point Trump’s little vanity project will no longer be able to keep the lights on. And then maybe we’ll get to find out why it really existed in the first place.
