The EU & US (the “Collective West”) and Nikol Pashinyan did one smart thing: they INTERNATIONALIZED the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict. Now it is not about Armenia vs Azerbaijan, it is the World (and UN) against the violations of the rights of the ethnic minorities, and, by association all Human Rights by the certain forces of Azerbaijan. Now, it is a different kind of the geopolitical balance, also spurred by the apparent stalemate (smelling of Russia’s defeat) in the Ukraine war.
